Care for lips in a natural way

A perfect smile comes through perfect lips. A perfect smile comes through perfect lips. Usually while everybody takes care of their skin and body, we tend to ignore the care for lips. Perhaps, proper care and nourishment is required to make lips soft and picture-perfect. Our lips define a lot about our lifestyle, as soft and moisturised lips would mean a healthy and proper lifestyle. On the other hand, dry and chapped lips would mean lack of water and nutrients supplement.

Therefore, it becomes even more necessary to take care of lips. With these natural ingredients that are readily available in our home, you can get back the perfect pouty lips.

1. Brown sugar and honey

From baking to beauty, brown sugar has always been crowned at the top. Being smaller than salt and sugar, it acts as a natural exfoliate and removes all the dead and flaky skin. Also loaded with glycolic acid, it fights bacteria and promotes healthy lips.

Honey on other hand is another bliss, having loads of beneficial properties. It retains moisture of the lips to make it soft and also contains antioxidants to promote more fresh and charming lips.

Use 1 tablespoon of brown sugar and 1 tablespoon of honey, mix well and massage it on your lips evenly. Relax for 15 minutes and then rinse it with water for healthy and soft lips.

2. Coconut oil and sugar

While lips have the most delicate skin, it is more important to protect it from any damages. Coconut oil is great for retaining moisture and keep them hydrated on the go. Also coconut oil contains pain reliving properties which can act as a great remedy for chapped or cracked lips. Further, oil is also known to keep the skin moist and protect the skin.

Sugar being a gentle exfoliate, helps in removing the dead and flaky skin cells and provide a smooth and soft lips.

Take 1 teaspoon of coconut oil and ½ teaspoon of white sugar. Mix it well and then apply it on the lips while gently massaging it. Set an alarm for 10 minutes while you take a beauty nap and then rinse it with water.

This fragrant flower is been excessively desired in the natural care sector. Rose petals contains sugar and oil, which traps the moisture, making the lips more soft and smooth.

It is also abundant in carotenoids and anthocyanins, which gives petals the beautiful pink colour. It provides the same pink colour charm to the lips, making the lips rich in antioxidants and vitamin C,making the lips healthy and supple.

Convert few rose petals into paste and then apply it onto your lips. Wait for 10 minutes and say Hi to pink pretty lips.

4. Olive oil

This oil is certainly more explored in the natural care sector now. From just the tempting food, use of oil is required typically in all sectors these days. Olive oil acts as a natural moisture retainer. You can always keep it handy and apply whenever your lips feel dry and chapped.

Apply a little drop of oil whenever your lips feel dry or chapped.

5. Rice flour and milk cream (Malai)

With not proper care, our lips tend to get dark and chapped, during this time rice flour comes to the rescue, being natural exfoliate, it makes lips look pink and smooth. Milk cream on the other hand contains high fat content which helps in regaining and storing moisture in the lips to make them soft and supple. Take 1 tablespoon of rice flour and 1 tablespoon of milk cream, mix the paste well and massage it on the lips. Keep it for 10 minutes and welcome the softer and lighter lips.

General tips:

Always keep a lip balm handy during all time to protect the lips when you are outside. We suggest you to use hydrating lip balm to provide certain moisture as well. Use these natural exfoliate only once a week as using regularly can cause the skin to look dry and flaky.
